One of a Kind Bespoke Diamond Swirl Scottish Engagement Ring
We created a very special, One of a Kind Engagement Ring for our customer, the final design was absolutely beautiful and exactly what we both imagined in the initial stages of development.
Bespoke Design Process
This was a team effort, my customer provided very detailed doodles at the beginning stages of the design process.
Custom-made Love Ring
It was my job to further develop the idea and bring the ring to life. All of his ideas were his dream of what a perfect Engagement would look like for his partner, it was extremely unusual in it's structure and design.
Ring Sizing
My customer guessed his partner's size with some very clever engineering, some paper and a pen. I was unsure about the accuracy of this technique, it was of-course highly accurate!
Materials
We created his ring in 9ct Yellow Gold, it was set with six - 2 mm diamonds, Vsi1, round, white brilliant cut. The diamonds were tube set inside the swirls, they were shallow set to sit flush with the swirls. I have created a very similar design for my Edinburgh Celtic Thistle Collections, therefore it was easier to conceptualise and execute the setting, as I had some experience with this type of setting.
Edinburgh Assay Office
We hallmark our designs at the Edinburgh Assay Office, the hallmark includes, the Assay Office logo- a castle- our sponsor mark, the metal hallmark, which is 375 for 9 ct gold and the Assay Office town mark, which is Edinburgh. This is reassuring for Customers and identifies the design for valuation.
Consultations throughout the process
Fortunately, our customer lived very near the Gallery, therefore he was able to come in for regular consultations as we created his ring.
Dream it up
As a designer, there is something so magical about bringing physical designs to life by the process of getting lost in your imagination. Inspiration is everywhere, however, getting lost in the creative process and in your imagination creates something that is truly one of a kind and unique, you dreamed it up. That is what I love about design. This ring will always be one of my favourites, as it is so unusual and so distinctly what my customer imagined for his love one.
The final design was beyond stunning. She loved it and of-course, she said yes!
